Horse Racing Vanuatu Style
The biggest event in the Vanuatu social calendar is nearly upon us. The Kiwanis horse races are next weekend. Once a year stock and pleasure horses line up to see who is the fastest round the track. A great day out for everyone, local, ex-pat or holiday makers alike.
You can enjoy the spectacle from around the tracks, buy stick meat from the local stalls, pop a buck or two on the tote and hang over the rails to see the galloping steads fly past.
Your other option is to buy a ticket to the Bird Cage and sip on Champagne with the best view of the horses as well as the fashion on the field competition.
Wherever you choose to watch the races it will be a fun day for all the family! Free buses are provided from various locations in Port Vila or if you prefer you can arrive in style by Helicopter.
Apart form the races themselves on Saturday there are two other charity events: The Ball on Wednesday night and the Carbine Club luncheon on Friday.
