Tour Description

Tropical Rainforest Ride

There is no better way to experience the beauty of the Vanuatu bush than on horseback. Bellevue Ranch is located on a working cattle ranch but still only 10 minutes drive from town. This 2 hour trail ride takes you through a lush tropical rainforest and up to the Bellevue plateau. You will see some spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean as you emerge from the rainforest on the hilltops. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, we are sure you will have a great time.

Bellevue ranch is owned by Tom Nagam a Ni-Vanuatu originally from the island of Tanna. He has worked with horses for many years both in riding schools and on cattle ranches in Vanuatu. He is known for his great horsemanship and has attended workshops in Australia and been to Europe to improve his skills. With the help of one his old employers and the offer of the use of the land at Bellevue, Tom has fulfilled his life-long dream of owning his own business. Tom not only takes tourists for rides, he runs a riding club for regular riders and has started a program for young Ni-Vanuatu to learn to ride and handle horses. RedVanautu is very happy to, not only offer a fabulous experience to our customers, but also to support this skilled and entrepreneurial indigenous Ni-Vanuatu is his endeavors.
